Frunk for the MG4 Urban – currently in development

The frunk for the MG4 Urban is currently in the development phase.

After the 3D mold has been precisely designed, it is manufactured and tested in several steps using 3D printing. Only once the fit and function have been optimally adjusted is the mold for the subsequent deep-drawing tool produced.

The finished Frunk is then mass-produced using high-quality, flame-retardant ABS V0 plastic. This material meets particularly high standards for fire safety and quality.

Since several specialized companies are involved in this development process—from design and 3D printing to tooling and mass production—the development takes a correspondingly long time.

Planned completion date: March 2027

We’re already working hard to get the Frunk ready for mass production as soon as possible. As soon as the Frunk is available, we’ll let you know on our website.

The basic shape of the Frunk is manufactured using deep-drawing technology from ABS V0.

ABS V0 is characterized by the following properties:

  • Excellent flame-retardant properties
  • High mechanical strength
  • Silk-matte, durable surface

All screw connections on the Frunk are made of high-quality stainless steel.

All models are delivered fully assembled. (not a kit)

Simple, multilingual installation instructions are included.

The Frunk consists of the following parts:

A charging tray for your electric car's trunk to create extra space for charging equipment and accessories. Now you can safely and neatly store your charging cables, adapters, and various car accessories. This keeps your trunk free for important items, and your charging cables are always easily accessible and ready to use.

A storage net allows you to secure items separately.

Optional pouches are available for storing small parts:
The Large pouch is ideal for transporting longer items such as a warning triangle or a jack.
The Small pouch can be used, for example, to store extra cables or the emergency charger.
